All these are points against padded belts and for two-piece systems. This one goes right over pants and belt, you can just grab and throw on. Less chest protection though. Alternatively, as silly as this may sound, taking Shoe Goo (or some other silicone product that dries kinda gummy but doesn't slough off) and making a couple s pattern stripes around the entire inside of the belt to make it more grippy.
